It’s the final Friday of July, and we have another group of personalities for you to add to your daily information collection:
Here’s Kris again. Kris operates the popular fixed gear culture blog, LOCKEDCOG.
You can follow Kris and Andrew at their respective twitter accounts. They both enjoy drinking 40oz adult beverages, and they also happen to be roommates.
Brian is responsible for the majority of the photos you’ve seen on our online shop. He is one of the city’s brightest young artists, and I feel fortunate to have followed his genius for some 16 or so years now. You can check out more of his work HERE.
Here’s DJ Whores aka WHORE24 and Ryan Lindow at the shop…not sure who the dude on the left is…You can catch these two at select gigs, such as the Tuesday night GRIMEY show at the Town House.
Last but not least is Mr. Scot Pollard. Here he is at last weeks Athletes vs Cancer event, drinking my booze (IMMA LET YOU FINISH, BUT THAT IS ONE OF THE NASTIEST SHIRTS OF ALL TIME – Kanye West). Athletes vs Cancer is organized by LA Laker Matt Barnes, and really is a great cause. Check them out HERE.
Have a great weekend, and be sure to follow @LUCKYLEFTYS.
Our friends at Locked Cog hosted the Sacramento premiere of Revoked! last weekend. With a trick comp added to the festivities, it turned out to be a solid event, indeed…
A Flying Coffin classic is available at the shop this week. The Night of the Living Dead inspired “Brainz” tee features a full body 3m reflective print. Get yours while supplies last.
The good folk at Chrome have assembled a great new team and blog, aptly titled Familia – the “vagabonds, dirtbags and other upstanding citizens” who represent Chrome products.
The team includes John Igei, Emmanuel Guzman, Bobby Worrest, and friend of the shop John Cardiel. Keep up with their adventures HERE.
The Cheap Monday Clairvoyant eyewear collection is now available at the shop. All under $40, these sunglasses are a great, versatile option for the Summer. Get yours now, in store.
A lot of images are surfacing from last weekend’s Summer Fix in Los Angeles. The famous Venice Beach basketball courts were the setting for the trick competitions, which brought out a large crowd for one of this year’s biggest fixed-gear events.
Riders such as Keo Curry (Macaframa) and Ed Wonka (Grime) were in attendance, with Wonka taking first place in the pro division trick comp.
Congrats to LA Brakeless for putting together a successful event. Russell Martin can still suck it.
We are now in the throws of Summer. Amid the 100 degree heat and substandard air quality forecasts, there are noticeable changes in the ebb and flow of humans in the area. Bicycles. Walking dogs. Drop tops. Hordes of blood thirsty, out of school Bieber fans, accosting innocent victims on the street for soda money. Where there were once bundled-up state workers roaming the sidewalks, there are now scantily-clad hipster scum. Where the soundtrack was once THIS, it is now THIS. Where the shop was once a hub for degenerates, the shop is still a hub for degenerates. Some things never change. Through all of this, I messed around and got a triple double. I don’t know how.
The aforementioned groups provide us with many guests throughout the day:
You might see Colby (Macaframa) riding around town a lot this Summer. Here he is at the shop with Corbin, working on a few upcoming projects (you can catch a sneak peak by clicking on the photo).
Mr. Danny Sargent made it by the shop recently. Fresh off surgery, still kicking ass and taking names.
(@LuckyLeftys)
Every day, someone walks into the store looking to challenge us to a game of pool. This is a bad idea, and I don’t recommend it. Occasionally, though, Corbin will oblige such requests, and if you beat him, you will receive absolutely nothing.
Say hello to James Newman (Macaframa). Newman was hanging out at the shop after a long day of cycling in Sacramento (and perhaps a few repetitions of this trick).

Say goodbye to Corbin’s Mac Book, while it’s still with us. If any heavy duty bag companies are looking to truly test their products, this is your guy. Email me at shop@luckyleftys.com.
You have no idea how much skill it takes to sit like this comfortably.
Come by the shop this month, and maybe you’ll end up on the blog, too.
