Last week we dropped by the Town House to check out our good friend RL and his electronica act, CityState, perform at the Sacramento Electronic Music Festival, along with Mochipet and several other techno/dub step artists.

If you live in Sacramento you should be familiar with the work of Philip Lumbang. I first heard of Phil a few years ago through a mutual friend who told me about his work with Shepard Fairey. Phil is now diligently working on his own projects. The Sacramento native’s playful cartoon bears, known as “awesome bears”, have been getting a lot of attention as of late.  His art has graced several shirts for The Hundreds and recently the cover for art magazine Giant Robot. Last month, Giant Robot held a show at their space in San Francisco for the artist and I was in attendance to check out his latest work. I’d like to congratulate Phil on an awesome show. Expect to see this guy doing even more awesome things this year.
