Omina Labs is our neighbor here on 16th St, and is one of the top recording studios in the region. J-Intell, Jae Synth and company are the production and mastering team behind some of California’s biggest hip hop artists. It’s not unusual to see Norcal mainstays like E-40, Bueno, Chino Moreno, Mistah Fab, or Doey Rock there on any given day.

A neighboring building on 16th street collapsed yesterday after a car accident sent an SUV through one of the walls. Built in 1929, most of building crumpled due to the “lack of steel beams.” The crazy thing is, that very building was almost Lucky Lefty’s, as we considered moving in after Kevin Johnson’s election staff moved out. Thank goodness it’s been vacant for a few months, and somehow nobody was seriously injured.
