Starting around middle school, I’ve been on a continuing quest to find good late night eating spots in this city. I was recently introduced to Sarang Bang, a Korean restuarant in North Sac.
While there are many places to eat in Sacramento, there aren’t too many dine in options for night owls like myself…especially a place where a group of friends can eat, watch Korean variety shows, and drink soju at 1 AM.
It’s not the most appropriate dish for 100+ degree weather, but the soon du bu jiigae is my ish.
Any time I miss Japan, or any time I’m looking for something delicious, or pretty much any time in general, I head over to our friendly neighborhood ramen shop – Shoki.
Family owned and operated, Shoki offers a short and sweet menu of Japanese dishes, prepared in authentic-fashion.
Even in the sweltering Sacramento Summer, there are few things more refreshing than a serving of cold Tsukemen (with Asahi on the side, of course).
One of my personal favorite dishes is beef curry over brown rice, which Shoki also serves (I cleared the bowl before I remembered to take a picture).
Apparently eating copious amounts of ramen provides one with enough carbohydrates to become a poltical leader and do things like this
Shoki is located at 2675 24th St. Sacramento, CA 95818
Corbin and I ate at a new restaurant in Sacramento tonight…I was so put off by the place that I felt I had to do something. So I’ve decided to let you know about a real Sacramento restaurant – Dad’s Kitchen.
First of all, they picked up on how much Diet Coke I drink…brought me a whole damned pitcher.
Fat Elvis w/Bacon…Peanut butter, honey, bananas, bacon. Chuch.
Habenero and blue cheese fries because you can’t just do garlic fries these days.
Dad’s Burger…bomb. May I also recommend the Hot Blonde, Blue Collar, and Angry Roadman sandwiches.
Hit up Dad’s when you’re in the area. Seat yourself, get a beer (or two), and stuff your face.
