If you checked out Burn’s recap of our one year anniversary you might have noticed our friend Hidehiko holding a can of PBR. Hidehiko hails from Tokyo, Japan and currently resides in San Francisco. His skate shop, California Street, is located in the Shibuya district of Tokyo and has been there for over 21 years. He is also an accomplished freelance skate filmer and photographer; filming some of the best skaters around. Hide has always followed his dreams and is a inspiration for the LL team. Here is a look at the one year party from his point of view.

We were fortunate enough to host our One Year party at the shop this past Friday night.
The night featured music by CITYSTATE and DJ Whores, a photography exhibition by Colby Elrick and Colin Arlen (Macaframa), and a couple of ill decorative cakes courtesy of The Frosted Cake Shop.
I want to thank our out of town friends like Benny, Hiromi, and Levi (Benny Gold), who were gracious enough to drive out for the night. Hidehiko (California Street), Joe (House of Commons) and good ol’ Neek (Where’s Neek) even came out from SF and LV.
I also have to thank all of our sponsors for the night: 10 Deep, Flying Coffin, Mishka, HACrticial, and Vitamin Water.
More than anything, I want to thank all of our friends and family who made it out. Without all of you, this would not be possible.
Cheers.
We opened our doors on Black Friday, 2008, with a handful of brands, busted knuckles, and fingers crossed. Come check out what we have going on this time around. Follow the LL Twitter for more details.
It’s good to know that even in a place as different and far away as Japan you can still feel at home sometimes. Today we stopped by FTC Tokyo and hung out for a bit. As you’d expect, good people, dope product, and these guys are all about skateboarding.
You might recognize FTC team rider Zizow (far right) if you’ve watched him killing it in Western Edition 3.
Thank you FTC TYO
What up FTC SAC !
While Magic begins in Vegas and school begins for many around the country, the LL team is in Tokyo for the next week and a half. Political transition, Asahi, 7 Stars, zombies…there should be some good blog entries ahead. To our friends in the area, be sure to hit them up.
Not to worry…it will be business as usual at the shop.
ep·och: A period of time, longer or shorter, remarkable for events of great subsequent influence; a memorable period; as, the epoch of maritime discovery “So vast an epoch of time.” –F. Harrison. [1913 Webster]
Nineteen ninety six. A lifetime in a year, marked by glory and struggle, life and death. A window in time looked through with old memories weighed against new perspectives.
Inspired by this time, the Epoch snapback is embroidered on New Era caps produced in 1996. They are now available at the shop.
